Model
Modeling is fundamental to HighByte Intelligence Hub. Modeling allows for pulling data from many discrete data sources (e.g., OPC UA, SQL, REST) and combining that data into useful information in a common format. Upstream data consumers can then rely on standardized information regardless of the underlying data sources, which can differ greatly per location. The Intelligence Hub breaks modeling into Models and Instances.
Models represent the definition of information. For example, a Motor model may include data associated with volts, amps, and on/off state.
Instances represent an instantiation of a model and pulls together the various data sources that represents something real (e.g., System, Process, Asset, Role, etc.). In the case of the Motor model above, a factory with 100 motors would model each as a unique Instance.
